Romantic moments with a touch of history, all combined in Chateau Žinkovy

The first written mention about the Chateau Žinkovy dates back to 1525. The chateau is located next to the Swan Pond of Žinkovy. The building resembles a fairytale chateau incorporating a mixture of gothic and romantic baroque style architecture. Moreover, the chateau's magical location in the pristine Bohemian countryside is reflected in the waters of the Swan pond throughout the year. Chateau Žinkovy is a beautiful and magic place rich in history. The chateau was mentioned in famous Voynich's manuscript dating back to the 17^th century. Baron Škoda, the auto magnate, chose the chateau as the family home in the early 20^th century. In 1945, at the end of the World War II., American soldiers used the chateau as a staging pont to rescue the world famous Lipizzan stallions. A monument was erected in commemoration of the brave members of the 2^nd Dragoons battalion that liberated the area and the stallions.

The 500^th anniversary of the establishment of the chateau is approaching. We will do our best to preserve the chateau as cultural heritage of the Czech Republic. We are looking forward to the fact that the chateau and the surroundings once again become a cultural place and touristic destination providing the guests with a luxurious and truly magical experince.
